      Great place to work if you like outdoor gear, but has it draw backs with the location in western Nebraska.

      Pros

      If you love working with outdoor gear this is the place to be. Nice being able to see new products before they are out for the general public.

      Cons

      Located in western Nebraska. Long drives to go do anything. Even hunting oppurtunities you have to dirve an hour before you get into good hunting locations.

      Pros

      Cabela's is a great place to work that provides different challenges and opportunities. The leadership team is very approachable and visible. Customer Service is very important to us and we are proud to work for a company that treats people with respect. The company is growing quickly and so there are many opportunities to grow!

      Cons

      I am not sure it is a pro or con - but more an awareness of the community. It is a small town. There are great things about the community. But a small town is not for everyone. It is close to the front range and so if you want to spend a weekend in the city you can.

      Pros

      Cabela's has a great employee discount for most items and also offers a very flexible work schedule. Their are numerous opportunities to move around the store and learn different departments as well as to move up into a lead or mentor position.

      Cons

      Working for a retail company leaves little room for traditional days off and a "normal" schedule. Employees are rarely given weekends off and it is unusual to even get two days off in a row. Also, many days you will close and then be required to open the store the next day, leaving you around 8-10 hours in between shifts.
