      Pros

      Much of the work is challenging and state of the art. Some very talented people in the trenches doing the heavy lifting.

      Cons

      Cadence is very top down with little empowerment of employees. Even minor decisions get pushed up and there is very little risk taking. Decisions involve endless meetings and lots of second guessing. Little or no loyalty to long term employees. Lots of formal communication downwards, very limited informal communication up and down.

      Pros

      Cadence is a good place to study software. There are lots of experienced SW engineer and you can find any program answers and examples in the source code by yourself, very useful! It developed a wonderful testing flow to guarantee the quality of product including code reviews, rnd test, ....

      Cons

      The management style is really bad. Manager will criticize the new stuff in public areas or/and meeting; even challenge the senior employee by really negative method for a small fault or mistake. This seems a style of Cadence in China site, I saw lots of examples in the office.
