Pros

Great products; Very busy always work, no layoffs.

Cons

Hostile work environment. They don't disclose that they don't pay installers until the jobs are signed off on by the customer, so if the job goes wrong and it was out of the control of the installer or if even a custom piece did not arrive in time for the install and it takes weeks to go back, then it will be weeks before you get paid for that job, if they remember to pay you. You will work over 8 hours a day and not get paid for it for weeks or months at at time. You will never know what you are being paid for from check to check. If you have a family to support, they make it impossible to have a steady consistent pay. So if you had 4 jobs that went wrong out of your control, you could miss out on over 40 hours in pay or commission in one week. They only care about lining their own pockets. They don't care about employees, nor the quality of customer service they are providing the consumer. The owner does not like dealing with customers at all. He even allows employees to walk around with firearms and intimidate other employees. There is no incentive to work there. If you are not part of the clicks, you don't get raises. If you quit to move on to a better opportunity, they will not give you your last pay check out of retaliation, they have done this to several employees over the years. They cheat people out of pay every chance they get and they keep getting away with it. They prey on young kids that come in happy to make a decent pay check, not know what comes down the road. Out of all the closet companies I have worked for over the years, this one was by far the worst at a management and operations. No professional people that work there at all.

Some franchises are good; Corporate is not

Pros

Some of the individual franchises are great people and do a great job. The company has been around a long time and many people recognize the name. They've had nice ads in magazines and on TV.

Cons

I've been here 2.5 years but trying to find another job. The corporate office is a mess and just a horrible place to work. They fired their entire creative, marketing and web/social media staff in February, along with their operations director, all with a 1-day notice. This after a year of 20% growth. Absolutely no leadership or values exist. Employee ideas, feedback, and suggestions are ignored. Fast employee turnover here is the only sure thing. This is definitely not the place to work if you're looking for a rewarding job or one with a future.

Pros

Freedom with scheduling, great brand/product, no-pressure sales approach, great company values, incredible sales manager and support, not competitive or catty - everyone just wants the customer to be happy

Cons

There seems to be a pretty significant lack of quality control, installers are paid on commission (not hourly) which can cause problems if they have to return to job sites, have to work 2 Saturdays every month
