Pros

The most rewarding thing about working for California Closets is the feeling of contributing to the strategic goals of the company, collaboration, and visibility to the management group in the company.

Cons

The company is moving at a very fast pace and it takes a certain type of person to keep up.

Pros

There are a few decent employees who actually try.

Cons

While California Closets is most likely a great place to work as long as it is not the Pottstown PA location. This location has the "Do as I say, not as I do." mentality. They follow almost no laws and regulations as to safety, no one has a forklift license to move materials around yet it is used daily. Their wiring box looks like Hellen Keller wired it up. The materials literally shock you to the point where it pushes the body part away from the material due to not having the particle board on a grounded platform. The machines are not maintained to their booklet manufacturer specifications. Everyone there is "perfect" unless you are in the shop or an installer. An employee sliced his hand open with a circular saw, this is supposed to be reported to OSHA within 72 hours, it was never done. They've had employees who literally do drugs at work, overdose, and are put in a back office where another employee "watches over them". Due to lack of proper maintenance on the machines they act erratically. Example: The automated saw will randomly start opening and closing while attempting to cut simultaneously. This will happen for several minutes at a time. There are no safety regulations set, no safety training, employees get hurt every so often and nothing is done about it. As well as it never getting reported so they do not have any derogatory mentions. They have a "Creedo" that is preached and praised yet literally no one including the "owner" follows such standards. The decibel rating is literally 100dB at all times, I'm sure it's now louder with the new edgebander, but double ear protection is required in that circumstance and the maximum amount of time to be unprotected to it is 15 minutes per osha standard. Upper management and the "owner" have been made aware several times. There is no hearing conservation program in place also mandated via osha. The list literally goes on and on. Point being here if the owner wasn't harassing his former employees, this wouldn't be happening to him.
