Benefits are pretty decent, but it's the only saving grace.

Cons

If you want to work for a company that sucks the life out of you, then go ahead and work for the EDD. Management was terrible. There was no communication at all between us new trainees and supervisors until the very last minute. If you have questions, they tend to get annoyed and snap back at you. Low wages. Like seriously, this is 2021/22 and we can't even afford rent with these low wages.

Pros

Very detailed training, supportive management, decent pay and benefits. Stay focused through the training and do your job and its a great place.

Cons

If you are classified as a Permanent intermittent employee, your hours may get cut sometimes based upon state budget. CAL HR or whoever is in charge of the pay and benefits is a total joke. Every month something is wrong with your paycheck whether they did not take out your insurance premium or shorting you on the hours paid, which you then have to alert your manager and takes a couple weeks to fix.
