Promising but toxic in the end

Pros

Being able to serve students in need make a difference in the lives of students. Help students plan for their future and contribute to their growth. Professional development opportunities. Friendships with coworkers.

Cons

Administration seems to be the primary problem with no accountability and unrealistic expectations to do more and more without proper compensation while they continue to get high salary raises every year. Unionized staff continue to be "workhorses" holding the university together through hard work and extreme care for students without the compensation to keep them there. High turnover due to poor management and low wages, no raises, overbearing pressure, and no advancement opportunities.
