Pros

Leaders extend a lot of trust to the people they collaborate with. Autonomy is balanced with support to bring new ideas to life! Remote-first environment allows for flexibility and balance and there are so many additional programs offered by the company for employees to feel supported. Compensation is competitive and benefits are great, affinity groups provide a great space for connection in remote first environment, and there are opportunities scattered throughout the year to be able to meet people in person! I've had positive experiences working with everyone I've collaborated with and I think that can be attributed to the culture at Calix. The Talent and Culture team especially is comprised of passionate and driven people who support bringing that culture to life every day!

Cons

None, my experience has been amazing so far!

Pros

--Pros & Work Environment-- Ideal for individuals seeking a technically challenging and rewarding role focused on problem-solving Supportive coworkers and strong team culture Excellent benefits package Management is generally flexible with time-off requests Management generally cares about employees and supports their success. Advancement opportunities are highly encouraged and, for the most part, achievable—though somewhat dependent on shift Not a “hand-holding” environment; success relies heavily on personal initiative, determination, and clear communication when encountering obstacles to growth Fast-paced, high-stress role requiring strong multitasking skills The company compensates well for this environment through competitive pay, generous time off, quarterly bonuses, recognition awards, and company-sponsored team-building events

Cons

High-stress, fast-paced environment, training can feel rushed, AI tools emphasized, AI tools not always reliable

We’re glad to hear that you are experiencing a supportive team culture, competitive compensation, and meaningful opportunities for growth—these are all priorities for us as we continue to build an environment where employees can thrive doing meaningful and rewarding work. We appreciate your honest feedback on the high-paced nature of the role, training experience, and the use of evolving AI tools. As we scale and adapt, it is a priority for us to equip employees and provide them with ongoing resources. We also recognize how critical regular check-ins, clear expectations, and strong communication are to both performance and the employee experience. Strengthening consistency across teams and shifts, and improving transparency during times of change, remain key priorities.Thank you again for your thoughtful insights and for highlighting both what’s working well and where we can continue to grow.
