Pros

Excellent opportunity to help build a growing dynamic company. Culture is encouraging and allows people to room to grow. Great benefit plans as well.

Cons

As with most fast growing companies, everything is not figured out all the way. If you thrive in an environment that requires fast thinking and adaption to new ways of operating this is a great place to work. If you need a sense of order and calm it may be challenging.

Pros

1. Great Benefits: Lifestyle Reimbursement Plan, free Audible subscription, stock purchase plan, Coursera access, and more. 2. Work from anywhere: Calix is flexible on where you can work. Saves a lot of time if you live far from the office. 3. Flexible work schedule: My manager allows flexibility in our schedules when life events come up. 4. Amazing people: Haven't had any negative experiences with anyone I have worked with.

Cons

As an engineer who works with hands on equipment for a good portion of my work time, I usually go into the office everyday. Because the work from anywhere culture is so strong, there are some employees in my area that I almost never get to see. Most of my team I see pretty regularly, but I don't get to see as many people from other teams which has limited my exposure to other departments within Calix. Therefore, it has been a bit difficult to get a good understanding of everything going on within the company.

We appreciate your insight on the challenges of connecting across teams in a remote-first environment. Creating more opportunities for collaboration and visibility is something we’ll continue to prioritize.

Pros

Great pay, lots of autonomy, wonderful benefits, folks are very friendly, collaborative, and helpful. Super flexible work environment: 100% remote for most and ability to shift hours as needed for life happening. If you're looking for a place that's not cutthroat, accepts new ideas, and has good intentions, you'll love Calix.

Cons

Historical culture of "move fast and break things" can be highly innovative (good) but also creates process bottlenecks and data messes to clean up (bad), This is true of most tech companies, in my opinion, not just Calix. It does not outweigh the pros.
