I have been a senior analyst with Callaway's ecommerce division for two years. In that time, I have been very impressed with our leadership, which includes industry veterans from the world's leading ecommerce properties, Silicon Valley unicorns, and even pre-Ebay online marketplaces. I was preparing for a stark transition to Callaway, as a ten-year veteran of the tech startup world. I expected a significant amount of inertia and status-quo mindset, in an established worldwide brand that's been around for 40 years. However, I joined a team that operates like a data-driven, growth-obsessed startup. During my tenure, we have launched multiple new websites, migrated databases, and are building an industry-leading ecommerce platform and data stack. There were several years of my career, grinding away to scale and sell startups, where I thought "dream job" was a bit of an oxymoron. As an avid golfer, I have a dream job at Callaway, and highly recommend my team and this company.
Cons
With very solid benefits, and amazing golf-related perks, many that get to Callaway, stay at Callaway. Senior leaders in the business have 20, 30, and even 40 years tenure in many cases. Relatively low churn in the upper ranks limits upward mobility from junior/mid-level roles in some departments.
