Amazing people, research, and career opportunities. Proximity and potential collaboration opportunities with JPL. Subsidized housing for 1st year of Postdoc.

Cons

Work life balance can be tough, but that is a general comment about being a Postdoc and would be true of any university in the country.

Pros

Very good environment. Collaboration is highly valued and encouraged. The administration and graduate office are extremely helpful with students. You are surrounded by brilliant minds.

Cons

Caltech is a very small school which can both be good or bad. I feel like its good for collaboration and interdisciplinary fields however you don't have many choices in some of the departments on who to work with (advisers).
