Pros

Cambly is a great place to work! I love meeting all the new students and learning about their cultures, hobbies, and interests. Working for Cambly allows me to study while I am working as they have a flexible schedule and they are always willing to help out in order to improve your experience.

Cons

Sometimes you get students who are not interested in learning English and prefer flirting with the tutor or a group of teenagers who are just fooling around.

Pros

The people are great! As a new tutor you have to wade your way through some annoying trial users, and of course you won't click with every student, but this is usually obvious to both parties. A few weeks in I get to hang out with people I consider friends and make money. I've learned a lot about Saudi Arabian culture, Korea, Taiwan, and just today an a very pleasant Italian guy explained the his government to me. Also you can take it anywhere with internet and you genuinely make your own schedule. No minimums.

Cons

The money. I live in Colombia right now, so it's enough to survive, but in the states this would be side hustle at best. Unless you wanted to work all the time, which I think would be socially exhausting.

Pros

Meeting people from different parts of the world - everyone that I have met has something interesting about them so makes for enjoyable conversation. Levels of English vary but it is a welcomed challenge and keeps it interesting. Using priority hours will keep a tutor busy After only one month I have spoken to over 200 different people - many of these for only 5 minutes but each one has been fun for me. $.17 per minute does not seem much but it does add up This is a great way to spend free time, much more fun that going to the local pub and talking with the bar flies and you make some extra income doing it I also find that the students are genuinely interested in learning or practising English and appreciate the tutor's efforts which makes doing it a pleasure

Cons

There are some glitches with the system. Sometimes after having a call with a student I end up having to do the connection test again instead of getting back to my dashboard which has caused missing the next caller. On a couple occasions students have reported having two tutors on line at the same time. It has also happened that I will get two calls at the same time, don't know if this is a glitch. The 5 minute trial period seems a bit short with potential students being disconnected before really getting going.
