There are pros and there are cons. Definitely both.

Pros

High end, luxury product brings opportunities to work with very impressive clients and business partners. The flexibility with schedule is easy going, you can work as much or as little OT as you want (in the dept I was in anyways). There’s lots of great people. It’s a growing company and starting to get processes under control.

Cons

Lots of politics and favoritism based on your status and relation to other executives. There are people in very upper level executive positions who are extremely unqualified but are there because they have a relationship to “the family”. The procedures and processes are not thought out before rolled out. Priorities are in favor of whoever is the favorite at the moment. Everything is bottle necked and it takes a long time to get anything approved because the decisions are made by the top few, although there’s so much to get done. Some of the upper, white, men are egotistical and hot headed and get away with it because they’re all old friends. The company is growing rapidly but they are not prepared to handle it at this point.

Pros

Its a small company which means you will get a lot of experience on a variety of technology's. Your opinion does matter when they ask for it.

Cons

Its a small company, that thinks they are a large company. What management wants and what is possible isn't always the same. Career advancement while I was there was non existent. There was simply no way to advance because advanced positions just did not exist. Job titles are for the most part meaningless.

Terrible upper management

Pros

Great starting wage, I learned a lot about industrial automation, paid lunch breaks, co-workers can be fun to work with.

Cons

Upper management is clueless as to the utter chaos that ensues on the production floor. They clearly don't appreciate the work their employees do for them and always want to cut corners to keep slabs coming off the line instead of listening to the people that actually make them. Departments don't collaborate with one another. Instead they all try to do their work independently when in fact it is all tied together.
