Pros

Canam is a growing company in the steel trusses and girder industry. They always work good hours and give you room to advance.

Cons

Only downsides would be the beauracracy side of the company. They like to keep guys with the most skills underpaid and make false promises.

Pros

Good Experience for recent grad in manufacturing and civil engineering. Good experience to become accustomed to manufacturing and industrial environement

Cons

Unclear instructions/expectations as this is new work being done. This position should take into consideration the needs and schedule of production department and that of the maintenance department.

Pros

Solid starting pay and plenty of overtime available. Company provides decent training however you need to push yourself fast paced environment does not allow for much error. If making solid money is your only goal you'll be fine however forget a personal life.

Cons

Union is not as strong as it should be unable to cover members rights or some of their own bylaws. Management is unstable and seems as if every job deadline is a moving target. Weekend work is the norm including Sundays (double time). Canadian based HQ out of touch with realistic work/goals/agenda.
