We appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. All feedback is important to our firm—especially the not-so-great stuff. While we do have a strong mentorship program, we realize that mentorship needs are very personal to each person—and we regret that our efforts fell short for you. Mentorship is incredibly important to all of us, and we’ll continue to strengthen our mentorship culture to ensure we’re giving all employees the opportunities they need to grow.

Thanks for swinging by to share your thoughts. We’re thrilled to hear you’re finding your work rewarding—and we agree there’s a lot of it unfolding across the firm. If you ever feel like the workload is becoming too much, please feel empowered to have a conversation with your supervisor or HR business partner. Our firm is committed to work/life balance, and if that balance starts to feel off, we aim to work with teammates to strike a balance that works for them. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Toxic

Pros

Most of the people here (generally in mid-career) are great to work with and always willing to help. Lots of smart people willing to think outside the box and experiment, which makes some of the work really fun. Some practice and office leaders are kind and respectful people, which is refreshing for such a corporate atmosphere. Recent and ongoing DEI investments are great.

Cons

So toxic. The worst is that firm leaders insult and badmouth peers and direct reports in business meetings behind their backs. Lots of aggression and antagonism and very little productive communication. There's a big CYA culture, with leaders unwilling to take responsibility and blaming and shaming other people publicly, including their direct reports. Lack of respect for work-life balance by some - expectations of quick, afterhours email responses. Firm structure and financial incentives encourage territoriality and bad leaders exacerbate it.
