Pros

Global and well renowned imaging brand with wide ranging product & services portfolio. Great and well designed (quality/environmental/safety) products. Employee discount on range of Canon products. Fantastic UK Head Office (Reigate) facilities and grounds.

Cons

Removal of final salary pensions scheme. Salary not competitive with other (like for like) roles. Some staff who carry out limited business travel are given company cars (or allowance). Due to size of organisation often slow for initiatives/policies to be implemented or moved forwards.

Pros

Great new HQ building in Brampton, ok benefits, employee product discounts

Cons

Old processes/systems, limited advancement opportunities in the team or between departments, strong company politics within management, subsidiary of US with no say in the way business runs and dependant on US for yearly budget, website, systems etc. In one word, Canon is "big ship that turns slowly" and reacts slow on technology market changes which makes the company not competitive. Salaries are below industry standard and no bonus structure which makes the total compensation even worse.
