Pros

Legacy business with solid products in the right areas and a good reputation among customers. Work life balance is excellent with many managers being family oriented Very good pension scheme and healthcare

Cons

- Poor leadership who are inexperienced - Hard work not rewarded promotions given off friendships - No accountability, hardly anyone actually does their job - Declining business with low salaries and budgets - Japanese mentality from the 90s still rife - Little to no social activities - Mass redundancies have caused those who remain to be overworked and underpaid - No career or salary progression whatsoever

Pros

Cooked food in the canteen is reasonable

Cons

Management appears to focus primarily on directing staff to work toward targets that benefit their bonuses, while taking full credit for the outcomes. There are numerous non‑conformities, including concerns around financial practices, manipulated email figures, and an IT system that lacks proper archiving, leading to significant compliance issues. Many managers seem to observe from a distance without taking responsibility for ongoing problems. The overall environment feels exploitative, with a management style that relies on intimidation and humiliation.

Pros

* Training opportunities if you push for them * Nice office

Cons

* Micromanagers thrive at Canon where middle managers try to make themselves look useful so as to avoid being part of the next large employee cull in the constant business cuts and so employees lose autonomy over their work as constantly challenged * Discrepancies across pay despite individuals doing similar roles in the same team and managers not pushing for their team to be moving onto the next pay grade despite reaping the fruits of their team’s labour. Everyone is expected to give 150% and do beyond their job role and get nothing back for it * Management stopping progress so they do not have to deal with having to recruit for vacant roles within their teams
