Pros

- People are approachable and open to helping - Great opportunities to get involved in work outside of projects - Minimal travel while still getting engaging consulting work - Opportunities to grow professionally if you take them - Partners are decently engaged (at least the ones I work with)

Cons

- Mon-Fri at client means not a lot of engagement with the Capco community outside of bigger events - Leadership waits too long to make their positions on important matters known to the firm so communication from leadership is not the always the best

Pros

- Great experience to notable investment banks and other financial services firms - Amazing culture, people, benefits and work life balance - Decent Pay, not crazy high, but industry standards - It's a great first job out of college where you'll have the opportunity to learn a lot and work with bright people who came from larger consulting firms or the Industry. - I was leaning on a 3.5 but decided to round up instead of down because honestly I liked it while I was there

Cons

- PMO/BA work primarily but really mainly PMO. It's hard to find a role outside of that and once you're stuck doing PMO work they'll make an effort to keep you there - Leadership was a bit poor. I'll say that they definitely were trying to be decent and did strive for transparency, but they made obvious poor decisions and exaggerated the work/impact of Capco - Capco is a small company compared to its larger competitors, so personal relationships existed within the company between managements and their juniors that would make several employees uncomfortable. Some of it unsolicited, all of it unprofessional. Although this isn't unique to Capco, they didn't have a strong enough HR system to report issues and provide feedback to leadership with keeping things anonymous. For example, there was a married partner clearly involved with a PC that he coached that everyone knew about but noone knew how to say anything because the HR team consists of 5 people and is in favor of the leadership. It wouldn't that much of a problem if their relationship didn't bleed into the daily office work.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the positive experience you had while working at Capco, including the culture, the opportunity to learn from smart colleagues, and competitive compensation. Capco offers a wealth of opportunities for people to develop and grow their careers, and posts open roles on its Resourcing App. Those who are interested in transitioning to a new role are welcome to apply for roles online or connect with one of our Resource Managers to discuss your interests. Mobility across projects and clients is supported by the firm and is one of the many reasons why people choose consulting as a career. Capco places great emphasis on respect and integrity, two of our core values, and we strongly encourage employees to come forward if you have any concerns about unprofessional behaviour or personal relationships at work. We have several vehicles for you to be able to report concerns, some of which are anonymous, and all of which will treat the information with the utmost of discretion. You can contact your HR Business Partner or the HR Director to discuss the matter confidentially. If you prefer, you can also reach out to a Partner or leader outside your immediate team to report your concerns or you may contact the Global HR Leader or a member of the Enterprise Risk team. The firm also has an independent Ethics Hotline and website that our people can use to report issues anonymously. All of these options are available to make it as comfortable as possible for employees to come forward to report any areas of concern.

Pros

Capco is a consultancy with Big 4 (or better) quality people, that competes in the market place by offering focused expertise across 5 financial services domains and running low overhead. I think it lives up to its promise of providing its people freedom to build their own career path within the firm. - Compensation (certainly the bonuses) is competitive with the major industry players, with many people receiving healthy raises to come over from Big 4/Accenture. - Having less internal structure than its larger competitors, Capco offers employees more freedom to experience projects outside of a specific "practice" or specialization. I personally came from a Risk background in the Big 4 and have gotten experience at Capco across Domains (wealth management, capital markets, commercial banking) which I had previously not had. - Partners and leadership have a very open door policy with all employees, very approachable and even proactive in engaging with their teams

Cons

Unlike its larger competitors, Capco is a little bit tighter about managing its bench. Further, employees are much more responsible to network internally and take agency in finding their own next projects at earlier levels. This may not be suited for less outgoing Associates and Consultants. Being entreprenurial/proactive about your career is a must, and while that is a positive for me, others who prefer a more structured path through consulting ranks may find it tedious or uncomfortable. For all of its cons, the firm seems genuinely open to receiving feedback and has trended toward more transparency from leadership throughout my ~4 years at Capco.
