Pros

Central city office (though quite small, so limited capacity for multiple teams at once). Opportunity to work for a London investment bank while based in Glasgow. Most colleagues were friendly and good to work with.

Cons

Pay is significantly below market rate. Little to no career progression, as the client only wants you to perform the role assigned without opportunities to expand your skills. Management often ignores issues within teams as long as deliverables are met and when problems are raised, they are frequently dropped if the client doesn’t want to address them. The performance review process is overly long, confusing, and ultimately disconnected from performance. Bonuses are small and tied to community contributions outside of work rather than actual job performance. Poor flexibility on working from home with rigid rules around office days, applied inconsistently across staff to avoid confrontation.
