Pros

It's a great consulting firm with a good balance between personnal and professionna life. Due to his big size, a lot of knowledge can be shared during trainings and possibilities exist to be transfered in different countries.

Cons

The buy out of Ernst and Young was difficult adn the brand of Capgemini Consulting is the beeing launched in the US. There's still a lot of work to do to be a global firm. The position in the management consulting and the name of Capgemini sometimes lead people to misunderstant our real value

Pros

Professional work place; independence in work. Clear definition of performance goals. High end projects in europe, good conditions and hygiene factors for employees traveling and staying abroad on business. Employee friendly policies and benefits. Flexibility of senior management to accommodate genuine employee constraints. Semi blue chip brand in consulting industry, does not harm chances of moving to greener pastures.

Cons

Unclear performance appraisal system. Bell curve approach in appraisals leading to subjective evaluation employee performance by the management. Chaotic integration of Kanbay in the Financial Services vertical, leading to lot of discontent in terms of growth of employees from mother company.

Pros

Cap offered a good salary and benfits package. THe flexible benefits allowed you to select what options were important to you and priotise these. 30 days holiday also helped!

Cons

Work-life balance and project opportunities. Cap certaininly make you work for your money - your ass is theirs from 8am Monday to 8pm Friday (and often longer). This can have a detrimental impact on your personal life and is not something I would consider once I had a family. As a singleton it was perfect. Another issue was the minimal (if any) choice you had over projects you were allocated to - it was usually a case of you were sent to a certain project regardless of whether the role fitted your job description or career aspirations.
