Pros

Company pays well and the range is broad for the role. Perks are good and comparable with market.

Cons

Zero work life balance Leadership with C level is awesome, but middle level management is really where the trouble is. Directors and VPs strive for show casing with innovation but none cares about building matured products. My push for building quality reusable frameworks was never respected. Agile framework are being used inappropriately for projects that has fixed requirements. The employees are relatively young and spoiled middle management is costing young and talented generation coached bad practices for short wins hence loosing long term visions.

Pros

Training opportunities, will learn a lot. Lots of free food and drinks.

Cons

Environment has changed, some managers push beyond reason. No matter how much you do, they want more. If you are doing less than 60-70hr/week manager downgrades your review to below average. I’ve now heard from others facing same challenges from other managers.

Pros

Great benefits. Great work-life balance once you have attained length of time.

Cons

This company offers great career roles but they do not scope them as permanent despite how they are advertised. This company HIRES and FIRES (which they call redeployment for laying off numerous roles in bunches). It is a part of Rich Fairbank's strategy: New and different business initiatives and practices each year. When roles no longer fit in those new initiatives, they place you on 'redeployment'. The company does not have a viable solution (Career Development Center) for retaining talent that may face redeployment. Companies and roles change most certainly, but this is cut-throat. In my 8 years at Capital One I have seen countless individuals placed on redeployment. Great people, individuals with outstanding backgrounds, performances and skillsets. The company does not make an initiative to retain this talent other than to say you are free to look for other roles within the company.
