Pros

Great benefits for employees. They train you to be able to handle everything before you are faced with it. All the people there are willing to help you learn and want you to be happy with your job. They go out of there way for their customers, which says a lot these days. I have worked several places, and this is by far the best job I've ever had! Starting off, I was given 20 days of paid vacation for the year!

Cons

Sometimes you have to travel a good distance for training or have to go in earlier than normal.

Pros

Extremely well balanced work life arrangement. It is relatively a young organization with most associates below 40, which makes the environment energetic and challenging. Highly analytical approach to work with big reliance on data and less so on qualitative factors. There is an open culture of soliciting opinions and feedback. Their is also a culture of encouraging or supporting associate decisions to change groups or role type.

Cons

Growth beyond junior/entry level positions is very limited. The competition is high, so if you are looking for fast growth this is not the company for you. Also the company culture is very data driven, with certain groups like Business Analyst community highly respected while others are not given adequate value. Leadership and management skills at mid to senior level leaves much to be desired. The growth of the company has put some relatively young people at senior levels who were rewarded with promotions for their analytical skills and the not the ability to lead or manage people. This is especially true for roles on the business side. Constant re-organization and moving of groups will leave you confused as to who is doing what.

Pros

I worked as a contractor, so my experiences are from that perspective. I found everyone I worked with to be pleasant and reasonable. It is a very collaborative environment based on team work. I found it refreshing to be working within a group of intelligent professionals.

Cons

There is an incredible amount of Capital One acronyms. Learning the 'language' is a challenge, especially for contractors. Employees go through training classes to bring them up to speed, but as a contractor you're on your own. Because it is a collaborative environment, it is the land of cubbies and open work areas; so if you need your own space you might not be happy.
