Fake but extremely profitable

Pros

There are not many anymore.

Cons

The “GE Model” (top-grading/forced-ranking) died several years ago yet COF still employs it. This performance management “process” is cancerous to all organizations in that it breeds back-stabbing and a severe lack of trust between coworkers—who are really competitors. Also, adopt a much more open attitude toward allowing people to work fully remote. The pay ranges are very tight and the base salaries are significantly less than comparable organizations. Allow employees to carry over more PTO from year to year. Enhance the 401K match to $2 for every dollar an employee contributes up to 4%. This will increase participation from lesser-paid employees. Lastly, use Microsoft products. The Google stack is awful.

Pros

Higher paying entry level positions than many major financial institutions. Decent Benefits

Cons

Very micromanaged. Be aware that getting the metrics you need is not often enough for management. You are graded on everything you say, even if you get the desired result. Bear in mind with more PTO often granted for entry level, very difficult to get time-off approved unless submitting 6 months in adance exactly.
