Pros

Great benefits. 401k, 5 weeks vacation, amazing work life balance

Cons

You work.so hard and there is never enough. 15 % cut off every 6 months during performance management. Extremely hard to move up. Its only possible if u have a good connections. Morale is very low. You never know when you will be layed off. To keep the job you have to work500% effectively. Very toxic place.

Pros

Most teams have good work life balance, and very nice people; pay is decent, not too high not too low

Cons

US card in general is hard mode but with more promotion opportunities. Mainstreet under us card is a rocket. Everyone are chasing promotion here but some can’t catch up or got kicked off.

Pros

I'm not going to do pro or con list. I'm gonna be honest...... The ASM position for Capital one is not a great one. Outside reps are not treated the same at inside reps. 2 totally different worlds. The love they receive at Plano, you will never get as an outside rep. This job is very cut throat. People on your sales team can sell your products to your customers at any time. It's a free for all. I'll explain why, here in a minute. When you are first hired, they force a ton of information at you, meetings, training classes, all while expecting you to catch on as quickly as a rep that's been their for 4 years. They is no learning curve, you cannot get behind, and if you show signs of struggle, you are put on a naughty list and talk bad about you at the big manager meetings. Be careful who you talk to for help. Nobody can be trusted, even managers. Keep your complaints and struggles to yourself. Be ready to drink the koolaide, cause if you don't, you are gonna be talked about. They don't fire people at cap one. They micromanage you and talk bad about you till you cannot get up for work anymore. Why are they so mean at this company in outside sales? Because the stack ranking system is built on preying on weaker reps. Out of a team of 8 everyone is cutting each other's throats to be number one. It's like putting meat in front of alligators. And the RSMs control who eats and who doesn't. If you are a brown noser and really good at manipulating, you are perfect for the culture here.

Cons

Training is atrocious. Your mentor is likely someone who wants you to fail that's in your territory so they can continue selling to your customers. The first 3 months you are not allowed to pitch or sell product, you have to be certified. So other reps on your team will "help" sell your products for you to your customers untill "certified". But you receive no credit for it. If you do not sell anything while being certified, be prepared to be on the naughty list and be talked about badly. Yes I know that made no since because you are training, but it's fact. They want you selling even when you can't sell. Don't ask for help, if you do they will further micromanage . Selling is 15% of the job. So much of it is bs paperwork and reports they force on you to keep you busy. You gotta have 25 quality meetings a week. The company expects you to walk into dealerships, get to the owner or decision maker and take roughly 1.5 hours of their time per meeting. You are also responsible for parties, planning capital one events, budgeting. All for 108k a year base. THERE IS NO RAMP UP PAY, COMMISSION IS Convoluted, YOU WORK HARDER THEN WHAT THE PAY YOU. Whenever you here then say, "I'm just kidding".....they aren't they are serious Be prepared to live in the dealerships. You work more hours then a finance manager. Insanely high turnover, the director of sales and VP of sales, told their share holders they they could DOUBLE THEIR ORIGINATIONS, and now they are slaughtering their employees to get it done. By any means necessary, morals are out the window and respect for their employees is out the window. Jump on if you dare. Things besides selling you have to do: Meetings everyday in the middle of the day. Tons of off hours work Constant emails that they are expecting you to memorize while visiting dealers. Compliance Violations Funding Constant changes of entire programs started 2 days prior that they want to put you on an hour meeting for while expecting you to hit your KPIs. Don't get me started about the ALPs Reporting that isn't necessary It's just an absolute mess.
