Pros

If teachers didn't call out all the time, you could do your job.

Cons

YOu will asked me substitute teach all the time. Its terrible. YOu are hired to work with small groups and you end of never getting to do what you are supposed to do. get out and find another district!

Pros

Good pay and benefits; great colleagues; interesting and diverse students; forward - thinking organization that strives to lead the state in education and cooperate with participating school districts; many employee growth opportunities (see related con below).

Cons

Seems like 100 new "initiatives" are "rolled out" every year and teachers and school admin must implement them "ready or not." High turnover in central office and in leadership positions at schools; too much testing; too much emphasis on data; I fear that current initiative to standardize practices across the district will turn a great organization into an Orwellian one. (See reviews for Achievement First & Harlem Success for more on that.)
