Pros

Good money if the lead on duty takes the time to properly document loads using pictures and explanations and management makes sure all employees are working to pull their own weight so that you don't have 3-4 people doing all the work for a team of 10-12 people wind everyone else does the bare minimum but pay is split equally.

Cons

Management plays favorites to the point that good people quit. There is one lead that calls in 3-4 days per week on the weeks he even bothers to show up, bc sometimes he doesn't come to work for weeks at a time with no explaination or proof to back up his excuses when he gives one. The problem with this is that it gives other employees free reign to call in as often as they want with no repercussions and this leaves us shorthanded constantly. And since they don't discipline the lead that calls in all the time they can't discipline the other employees that decide to call in, meaning that there are days of the week that we only have 3 or 4 employees show up out of a crew of 10 that are scheduled. The lead has even said he wishes they would just fire him so that he could apply for unemployment but they refuse to fire him so hes just going keep doing his thing until one day he gets fired and management knows he has said this but they refuse to fire him. This same lead that constantly calls in when he does show up to work only does the bare minimum.. He never works on the floor even though every other lead will work on the floor in order to get the work done so that everyone can go home as early as possible because it is a production based environment. He will also purposely hold back papers for trucks that are waiting to be unloaded and send people home early so that there's less people to split the money with, creating more work for the people who remain, but since he doesn't actually DO any of the work he doesn't care about that. And finally he doesn't properly document what work is done on each truck and instead will just charge a flat rate and instead of taking the time to make sure that any additional work that's done on the trucks has been marked and documented so that whoever has unloaded the trucks is paid fairly for the work that is performed. This goes back to the, he doesn't actually do the work so he doesn't care about who gets paid for what. The most horrendous thing that he has done, which should have been an automatic termination but again favoritism runs abound when it comes to this particular employee, was that he had an inappropriate physical relationship with someone that he directly supervised, on company property, and management knows about this. It's a running joke amongst everyone in the department even though it breaks frontization rules that are company policy and no one has done anything about it. Multiple attempts have been made to contact HR over the favoritism that is shown towards this particular employee the the flagrant policies that are broken when it comes to this employee and it is impossible to reach HR in order to file a complaint. Any and all attempts made to discuss this with management have been met with disdain or dismissive behavior stating that how they choose to discipline individual employees is up to management discretion.
