I went in for a second interview and was offered a position with a generous pay rate. I accepted the offer and was told I would receive formal offer on my first day. I received the offer letter, which was incorrect. I declined to sign because this offer was much lower than offer made at interview. I was told that this was a mistake and would be resolved the next day. I went in to work today and was told human resources would not accept the initial pay rate I received the first day. The new rate was $4000 less a year, so I declined the offer. What a huge disappointment and what an awful way to do business.. I have never experienced anything like this before. Lesson learned to always get that offer in writing before taking the position.
