Pros

Ones you achieve a senior status you can write your schedule, demo vehicle is a nice perk however it takes a few years.

Cons

Like any other retail business, long hours. I started in 2001 and our salary was adjusted almost 9 years later by increasing $10 on the commission for both car and warranty. Open door policy is a fraud be aware there will be retaliation. The only chances that you can grow further than management is to become a Buyer (purchasing department) or to be an outsider. In the last few years the quality of the used vehicle had been deteriorated, in order to be more profitable. However if the vehicle is return with in 5 days for a mechanical reason (which is not the fault of the sales rep ) they withdraw the commission. Look at the financial reports and you will notice.

At least it's not boring...

Pros

Dynamic in the sense that day-to-day job changes, not a lot of time is spent doing nothing, everyone seems to genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Cons

The pay is a joke, constantly talking about moving up with the company makes it seem as if managers feel the need to sell the idea to me.
