Pros

The XF stores are great and have good team values.

Cons

The Traditional store's sales share no team work and all the departments work together horribly.

Pros

This is like a family. Initially if you are not used to working the long hours it can be a bit overwhelming, but eventually you get used to it and it will no longer bother you. If you work hard, this company will develop you as a leader and you will get promoted quickly. They acknowledge talent and love to watch it grow. I loved everyone that I worked with because the culture is full of honesty and provides feed back that helps in both professional and personal settings. I would recommend anyone looking for a great career to look at this company.

Cons

The "bad seed" employees are given too many chances to stick around because of the same culture that tries to develop its associates, sometimes spends too much time on the ones that clearly DON'T NOT fit. Because of this management has to spend too much time on those problem associates and it stunts the growth of others. This allowed for those associates to bring down the morale of the group because they were given chance after chance to show they were not going to change for the better.

Pros

Very laid back environment. Very casual dress, good culture, managers care about associates. Good training program for fresh out of school, starting salary with bonus not bad. Great work life balance, rarely work over 40 hours a week, if you do, it is only by 2-4 hours. They do not contact you once you are off work.

Cons

Have to work nights and weekends, systems in place back from when Carmax Auto Finance was a small company, not a Fortune 250. Manager salaries are not great, Department manager and above could be good, but team manger is not great, some associates make more with their monthly incentive structure. Good starting for college, but limited growth in terms of salary and promotion. Only so many Department manager positions and unless they leave, no openings. They have a thing called MAP you have to pass, system is not set up well, about 50% of people do not pass and have to take a position ad paycut or leave the company.
