Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear you’ve had a positive experience with your team and found the pay competitive. We’re sorry to hear the rest of your experience has fallen short. Since the comment is a bit general, we’d appreciate the opportunity to better understand your concerns. We encourage you to reach out to your local HR team so we can listen and continue working toward a better experience for everyone.

Pros

Any pros were overshadowed by the needlessly cruelty.

Cons

"This is not about replacing people — it's about eliminating inefficiencies" These are words from our CEO shortly after I and more than 80% of my team were placed on furlough, a fancy way to lay us all off without paying severance. To him, we are not people. To him, we are inefficiencies. There are members of the team who had been there for almost a decade, there are members who've stayed loyal since grad. One of us used to be in the office as early as 6AM. Many of us saw ourselves growing old with CarParts. Instead, we get this. All of us were promised that the company was a Great Place to Work(TM). For a good, long while, that was true. The people at CarParts are kind. But then the layoffs happened, out of the blue, without even our senior manager alerted beforehand. They expect us to wait 6 months before we see a shred of severance pay. If we find other, full-time employment in the meantime, we'll likely never see it. We are not inefficiencies. We are people. This was inhumane.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly regret the impact this has had on you and your team. Furloughs — in any form — are never easy, and we recognize how personal and painful these changes can be, especially for those who have dedicated years of hard work and loyalty to the company. We want to clarify that the CEO’s comment regarding “inefficiencies” referred to internal processes and structural challenges — not to the individuals affected. If that message came across differently, we are sincerely sorry, as that was never the intent. The furlough process was carried out in accordance with local labor laws, and while it was a difficult decision, it allowed us to retain the option to bring back talent where possible. We’ve already welcomed back four team members, and we’re thankful for that progress. Above all, we want to acknowledge and appreciate the long-standing contributions of so many team members — including yours.
