Pros

- Some of the people are cool to work with - Sometimes management is supportive of top performers - Pay is reasonable - Free lunches

Cons

The problem with this company is they are using antiquated technology and do not make technology a priority despite the fact they claim to want to be a top player in the market. They also claim to be Agile but are hardly Agile at all. Where some of the people that supposedly have TSM certifications received them from I do not know. They are largely clueless. They are about as Agile as a snail. Despite the rigorous hiring process the engineers are either stale and never updated their skills or are just flat out incompetent. They are mostly duct tape programmers that don't really think through the consequences of what they produce leading to large amounts of technical debt. They sometimes hire consultants but are duped into thinking they are experts when they are also completely incompetent. Who knows how much money was wasted on that. Also, the OpenText acquisition quite frankly stinks. They haven't made any positive or supportive changes. There is also massive chaos and disorganization from the constant re-orgs. The GM seems like a decent person but clearly has no clue what is happening on the ground. You hear a lot of top level directives but very little follow through. You'll hear a lot of talk about changing the world and about sales and trade shows. Lots of cheer leading, very little substance.

Pros

Compensations are not bad. Regular bonuses. Flexible hours. Possibility of working from home Free lunch every Friday.

Cons

Managers are not providing the development opportunities. Politics everywhere. Company uses misrepresented version of Agile methodology. Too much focus on process and paperwork than the actual work itself. Management does not interested in success of employees, always blaming employees, instead of taking responsibility for problems. Too many layers of upper management. Corporate policies and strategies discourage innovation and growth. Poor planning and upper management results in chaos. No vision. Managers and most of developers (!) have very shallow knowledge of how the product works. The company lost the institutional knowledge when most valuable and skilled workers left of were laid off by new management.

Pros

Supper nice people in the office. Very good Work/Life Balance. Manager never try to ask you to use your personal time to have meeting or so. Company culture is good and fun.

Cons

The pay rate is below the market. Backup business doesn't have a bright future. Not using much cutting edge technology.
