Pros

Provides good into into the glass industry without having to be that guy who learned from their father or something. Cardinal takes risks, such as investing in the Solar Industry. My facility started the initiative to become ISO certified, which is very good. Being in an ISO certified facility with a strong quality back ground with high production performance provides a good example on one's resume, if you can get into a Supervisor or Quality position.

Cons

Despite it's profits, Cardinal doesn't share much. Wages are kept very low as corporate usually takes nearly half of all revenue. The site I worked at was franchised, in a sense. We operated independently but as far as I knew, we only got to keep 56% of our total revenue and profit. This forced the site to abuse contract/temp workers, which means many who produced those profits were receiving NO benefits what so ever. If there were budget constraints due to market fluctuations (such as the 2009 Crisis) workers were stuck as contracted for years. That's unacceptable.

Pros

One of the few higher paying manufacturing jobs in the area. Shows a lot of effort to promote safety. Business seems good for them right now.

Cons

Horrible schedule, poor health insurance, pay vs responsibility is unbalanced, poor training, and bad culture. Does nothing to keep people from wanting to leave. It's all about numbers.
