Pros

I fell in love with Cardinal Group a year ago when I started as a community intern at a student housing complex. The culture, The recognition, The benefits are all AMAZING

Cons

I am experiencing some burnout as I am doing the same thing every day, even after switching from student to conventional housing. I want to grow in this company, and I know that takes time, but I am worried that by overworking myself, I will ruin cardinal for myself.

Pros

Emphasis on Well-being: The organization genuinely cares about its employees' mental and physical health, offering resources, time off, and flexibility that go beyond the standard. I feel comfortable setting a hard boundary between my personal life and my work hours. Supportive Leadership: Management isn't just focused on metrics; they actively listen to feedback, support professional development, and genuinely care about their team's success. I've been very fortunate to have incredible leadership that continually shows up and works alongside its teams and people. Radical Transparency: The company is open about its decisions, challenges, and future plans. This builds trust and makes employees feel like they are valued partners in the organization's journey. Collaborative Environment: Teams are encouraged to work together and support one another, rather than compete. This fosters a sense of community and shared success. Flexibility and Trust: Generous work from home opportunities, offering a flexible "work from anywhere" mindset and allowing valuable room to travel. Opportunity for Development: The organization offers a wide variety of developmental resources including annual programs that develop Team Members on site and accelerate their career growth, frequent groups that meet to connect and learn from each other, HQ facilitated calls to teach new skills, a coaching program for new Team Members, and more. There is a wealth of resources and opportunity to learn and grow around every corner.

Cons

It is VERY competitive, and oftentimes hard to get in front of the hiring manager/or recruiter. I applied many times for many roles, with most roles I was overqualified for and still didn't get any traction. I would receive a denied email and no context. It was very frustrating. Even as an internal employee I had a hard time securing a promotion. It requires a lot of proactive efforts, creative outreach and leveraging connections, and grit to continue trying.
