Pros
Overall my experience was pretty good. Great company culture, the majority of the employees I've met were actually very nice. Pay is so-so but depending on what you do and how well you do it, there is a ton of bonus potential (around 18k in commission and bonuses alone in my case.)
Cons
I felt undervalued. My team killed it on all fronts however we were left hanging out to dry quite often. We went 6-7 months without a permanent community mgr and the transition to our new one wasn't as seamless as one would expect. Our regional mgr set up a contract with a student group to accommodate their summer housing needs but overlapped there move out with our standard move ins. As the leasing mgr, I should've been made aware of that. I only found out when I went to complete placement and discovered because of the regional's oversight and lack of communication with me, we ended up over-selling! It took him a 5 weeks to decide what to do and all the while told us keep it hush hush from owners to his peers at HQ. Ultimately I had to clean up his mistakes with very little resources and the reward was not worth the unnecessary trouble and stress. I try not to attribute his ineptitude to the entire company, I'd say that particular situation is unlikely to happen again but it was my experience. Additionally, it's all about who you know. It's easy to work your way up the ladder if you just shut up and smile, but a true leader isn't afraid to question things for the betterment of their community.
