Pros

Cardinal Group’s leadership consistently demonstrates a forward-thinking mindset, focusing on how to evolve for the betterment of our teams, our communities, and our community owners. I am genuinely excited for the strategic updates and improvements coming in 2026. At Cardinal, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are not just buzzwords; they are authentic principles that are felt daily. Our Core Values are not simply written on a wall—they are the standards we strive to live by, both personally and professionally. In my 30+ years in property management—ranging from owner-managed conventional to third-party student housing—Cardinal Group stands at the top. The support system here is robust and accessible. While there is always room for improvement in any organization, that continuous drive to be better is exactly what defines the goal at Cardinal.

Cons

While I do not have significant negatives to report, there is always an opportunity to better bridge the gap between corporate and the site level. Specifically, I would love to see our Core Values discussed and operationally supported even more frequently at the site level to ensure total alignment. Additionally, while I know Maintenance Support is a key focus for 2026, it is crucial that we maintain momentum there. Maintenance is the backbone of our industry. Ensuring they feel appreciated, integrated, and fully viewed as part of the wider team should remain a top priority to ensure retention and operational excellence

Thank you for your 5-star review and for bringing 30 years of industry expertise to our team. We love that you see our Core Values as a lived standard rather than just words on a wall. Your insights on bridging the gap with our site-level teams and maintaining momentum for our maintenance backbone are incredibly valuable. We also hear you on the need for our compensation models to evolve alongside our growth. We’re glad to have you on the team!

Company & Leadership is Strong

Pros

1) Company growth is strong which provides a lot of opportunities for career growth 2) Leadership is the strongest that it has been - company leaders are not perfect by any means, but they are humble in addressing where improvements need to be made and are committed to doing so 3) Competitive but team-based environment - Not a lot of ego driven decisions in the organization, everyone is on the same team and working towards the same goal

Cons

Competitive but team-based environment - competent and accountable people's performance is recognized and those are the people who get the opportunities. If you want to work at a company where you can hide in mediocrity, this isn't the company for you

No loyalty to staff during transitions

Pros

Good initial communication, great on site team and good place for creative freedom.

Cons

After years of dedicated service, the level of neglect following our property sale announcement was extremely disappointing. As soon as we were told the property was being sold cell leadership changed overnight with no communication but an email, and the promised support from the Talent team regarding internal transfers never happened. You would think that if a property was being sold, you would try to find new positions for the on site team within the company, which is what we were told would happen, but no one ever reached out from corporate to help. Instead they let people hire their friends. If you value professional development and transparent communication, this company does not support its people during transitions which are inevitable in this industry.
