      A lot of poorly managed change management and uncertainty. When I joined CareFirst, I was really excited about the culture and stability, but recently there have been a lot of experienced leaders that have just been let go with no warning and it causes a lot of fear with those of us still left

      Pros

      New leadership trying to make company more innovative and relevant. New CEO conducts quarterly Q&A sessions and is inspiring in his vision. Great benefits.

      Cons

      Lots of talk, not a lot of action. While there is a great high level vision, no one really knows what is happening, who is doing what, when it will be achieved. Not a great deal of transparency, especially in IT. Departments are very silo-ed; the way they are currently doesn't encourage cross-department/area team work. As a result, there is a lot of blaming and duplication of work. Also promotions only happen if someone leaves/retires so there is not a lot of room for growth.
