Managers don't understand the workload. On 70% of the days, I end up working additional hours to meet timelines. Timelines are not decided based on the amount of work. But rather than urgency of the work. Ever since there are leadership changes, everything is urgent. Managers and director level people are more into projecting how fast their team achieved the goal.
When timelines are not met, we get responses like "I don't want any excuses, I just need the work to be completed". If you achieve something good, it is never appreciated. Throughout my career at Caresource, I never got single appreciation email. To complete the year end targets/goals leadership will provide some "heart" points saying you have done a good work (automated email from portal). But nothing apart from that.
On an overall note, it's not a positive environment to do productive work as a developer.
