Pros

All roles have high visibility by top management and get regular "facetime" with them. There is also a lot of autonomy to start your own projects and go in depth into what you are passionate about. You rarely hear "no" as long as you can provide a business justification.

Cons

As apart of a fast growing company their tech stack and resources are still being developed.

Pros

Schedule wasn't bad, Carevet itself has some good perks, but this location was horrible for a vet outside of this "clique". Read your contract and be aware they WILL adjust your pay after one year based on production while things are scheduled extremely unfairly here.

Cons

Beware! !! I cannot warn you enough!! Do not believe anything they tell you during interviews! Vets outside of this "clique" will be used to do nothing but see low income clients while CareVet adjusts your pay based on production. Expect your pay to be adjusted to about $70k per year based on the extremely unfair scheduling here while the other doctors are scheduled to make sure they bring in big $$$. Half the day is no-shows and the rest come in declining everything but the required rabies vaccine, even on young dogs. I've never seen so many neglected animals in my entire career. They are constantly offering "free exams" they only schedule with you, which only draws in even more people with no money expecting everything to be free and becoming hostile about it. Sick, neglected animals come in that haven't been to a vet in years, if at all, and they don't even have money for the exam fee let alone any treatment. Clients are allowed to be abusive to the point of putting staff in tears without any consequences. Do NOT believe them if they say you will be doing surgeries or other procedures, because you will not! You will be lucky to do a few cat neuters here and there while the part-time new grad (who is the main part of this clique along with the manager) makes sure she does all the procedures even though she isn't trained to do them. She has the techs telling her which teeth to extract and how to extract them, doesn't use local blocks because she doesn't know how, doesn't use appropriate analgesia for surgeries, all while charging the clients thousands of dollars for these procedures. You will NOT use any of your skills here! The Medical Director has no knowledge of anything to do with anesthesia, surgeries, dentals, etc. and just lets the new grad do things unsupervised. You will only be used to do things they don't want to do ..like cat enemas, sedated nail trims on aggressive dogs, etc. ..instead of being scheduled surgeries or other procedures. The manager is horrible, she has no training or experience other than working there and is never there. She comes in late every single day and is sneaking out the door before 3pm on the few days a week she does work. She will only communicate anything going on there with her clique of friends. It is a typical corporate situation where she was just thrown into a management position when they got bought out. You will be lucky to have one person to help you because the manager makes sure to schedule all the help with the other doctors and that person is constantly being pulled away. The manager schedules support staff to come in late and leave early to 'save on staff costs", constantly leaving minimal help. You'll constantly have to work through lunch and stay late because of this, but if you leave even 10 minutes early you will be told you have to use PTO. The receptionist is one of the most incompetent people I have ever worked with and is allowed to be on her phone or play on the computer all day instead of doing things that need to be done. She disappears at least once an hour to go vape outside, even when there is a lobby full of clients. Anything you ask her to do she will say she doesn't know how. There is zero accountability for doing her job. They require "everyone" to work Saturdays, but that does't include the manager, and if the other doctors decide they don't want to work they just close that Saturday. Don't get trapped here for a year like I did!! There are so many better jobs out there where you can actually use your skills and have adequate help. Upper management doesn't care what goes on there.
