Careerbuilder- the corporate sweatshop.
Pros
The only bad thing about working here is the work. The atmosphere is great, a lot of twenty something middle class college grads who party and live it up in Chicago, and a corporate type ambiance that makes you feel like you are working in a "real" job. Eventually though it hits you, this is just a sales job and it is the worst type of sales, telemarketing. If you can stand that then it wouldn't really be that bad a place to work at all. One thing that they do very well here is special events. They have parties at bars which they rent out bi-monthly they give out of Cubs tickets like candy and they are always trying to plan employee outings. In that sense it is a great place to work and huge boost to your social life.
Cons
Careerbuilder is all about telephone sales of an internet product. Two things will make or break you: luck and personality. If you have that exact collection of personality traits that equates to charisma and you can translate that over the phone, you will probably do well here. The other factor, is pure blind luck. This is expressed as where you end up calling in the world/country, the prevalent economic conditions there and the actual phone numbers/companies you get assigned. Bad leads equals bad sales. If you aren’t making sales then you will get fired and you will only get 12 dollars an hour until you do.
