Pros

Global company operating in several countries. Several business units within the company offering a diverse range to work for: grain, oilseeds, flour, etc. Great ethical company that tries to always do the right thing. Accepting of people and their diversity. Company will be around for years to come.

Cons

Company is in a state of flux for the next decade trying to decide what and how much to source to strategic suppliers. Ex. IT, finance, hr, etc. If you are not on the front line of a business unit, your long term outlook is not great. Lots of tiers in management trying to figure out how to lead people. The company is very large and has lots of processes and at such detail it may seem death by process. Because of this, it has lost the agility that smaller companies enjoy today.

Pros

Pay was very competitive, benefits were very good, growth opportunities were strong as well. Lots of very smart people. There are a lot of opportunities to travel internationally.

Cons

Leadership and culture were very difficult. Great company to start your career - not a good place to come in mid career. I always got the sense that my experiences prior to joining Cargill didn't matter because I didn't have them at Cargill. Experienced hires were always treated as "second class" citizens.
