Pros

Cargill has had a good reputation, mostly be befitting from the big rise in commodity prices. The pay has been good and there have been a lot of opportunities but when times have got bad they have shown themselves not to be up to the challenge. Even though I held a position in Human Resources it is not a company I could recommend in good conscience to anyone looking to join.

Cons

Management has turned over very heavily in the last two years and it is not at all clear what Cargill is doing. Recent heavy layoffs have been managed extremely badly resulting in a lot of long tenured Cargill people really wondering what the place has come to.

Pros

The history of the company is impressive.

Cons

Cargill practices cronyism to an alarming degree. The recent layoffs were handled horribly.
