Pros

They have very structured programs and they offer constant feedback. Alot of other companies simply toss their interns to the wolves, but Cargill is very dedicated to its interns and focuses heavily on development. The company really spares no expense ensuring that it's interns are well versed in the company's operations, and that they have a firm understanding of the company's policies. Students who intern with Cargill can expect to fly to other cities to meet other members of their teams, they will do video conferences, and they will be expected to make recommendations.

Cons

Sometimes people can be somewhat sluggish because it is a private company and they feel safe.

Pros

Cargill is a large corporation involved in various industries across the globe, so the opportunities are endless within Cargill. The people there are friendly and very nice, as a lot of emphasis is placed on the 'How' you achieved something, as opposed to just focusing on 'What' you did (ie ends justify the means?)

Cons

The emphasis on 'How you work' can become very difficult to deal with if you are a very results-driven individual. This is a place that really values seniority, so it is a difficult place to get promoted quickly.

Pros

Overall a stable company, international scope and diversified. Old history and heritage, strong reputation in the marketplace due to brand, strong ethical and reputation awarness, key element that integrates with the approach with customers and a requisite for current marketing campaign. Many oportunities for international work and a prerequisite for more senior positions.

Cons

Tends to move slow, still not fully diversified given global source of revenues. Difficult to figure out when joining from outside at a relatively more senior position, many business units, in some cases too much to sort out in the market place. A passage to prove oneself or get the real meaning of the culture. While some areas are more willing to leverage all offering, others remain insular, very strong leadership required to get to the execution aligned with the intent. In terms of respect and fairness, there is a relatively high level of "who knows whom" for getting ahead.
