Pros

Large Company many divisions world wide

Cons

Treats contractors really bad. Stagnate in each position. Hard to get promoted. Doesn't listen to their employees. Upper management oblivious to the needs of their employees. Asheesh drives people to leave the company. No management skills.

Pros

Strong ethics, good teamwork, easy to see results, visible management team, private ownership allows longer term thinking, hard to get fired.

Cons

Pay only benchmarked to food industry, not chemical industry; very regimented raises and pay bands, if hired from outside at "above market" (Cargill pays below market) you won't see a raise for a couple of years at least. You also MUST be willing to move around/relocate to advance or be safe if a plant is shut down.
