Pros
It was steady employment. I enjoyed the people I worked with. The work let's you develop a work ethic and a few skills. You also get computer savvy if you weren't before. Built a lot of muscle standing and lifting, carrying, and maneuvering items weighing up to 80lbs. Attire is casual since you are doing labor and get dirty easily.
Cons
The work can be dangerous and no PPE in sight. The pay is 'eh it's a wage' for the type of job it is. I didn't like the meetings where I was constantly reminded how well the company was doing with rising profits and being told how great of a job we were all doing to make this happen while we weren't getting paid appreciated wages. It was, honestly, demeaning and I know that I felt like a fool. "Bonus" was not a word in this company's vocabulary for someone that was in this position. Christmas bonus is a frozen turkey, ham, or $10 gift card to Cargo Largo. They don't realize it, or maybe they do, but this was really insulting to everyone who did the hard work to make this company run 5 to 6 days a week. On another note, see my advice to management.
