Pros

Lots of smart, dedicated people (many of them also charming), and an excellent product.

Cons

Worst management I've ever experienced. Flailing on direction, unreasonable demands, condescending and rude.

Pros

- Employees are mostly trusted and autonomous, little to no micro management. And, more productive as a result. - Flexible work, beautiful office, wonderful colleagues and management makes for a happy 9 - 5. - Amazed by the brain trust. Everyone works to make our company smarter and more efficient. - True company with a mission. This isn't about only making profit (although that's a part of it, of course). This company is about truly improving STEM education in the U.S. A great mission to be a part of. - Since the recent buy back from Apollo, the entire company has been transformed - our headquarters, our brand, our products, etc. It's a start up with a long-time reputation and profitability - a pretty great situation. - Smart, strong C-level leadership

Cons

- The best employees often see a disproportionate share of the work sent their way. - Flat structure means not much junior level support, also means that employees can often end up doing a lot of work "below their paygrade" taking away from the opportunity to be more strategic. - No performance reviews or performance management process means there isn't a clear opportunity and monetary compensation path to current employees. - Recent acquisitions and side projects are stretching staff bandwidth. - For how advanced the company can think, we still have a lot of traditional / legacy issues with Sales, process, systems, and more.

A company at its crossroads

Pros

For years, Carnegie Learning has boasted some of the best math products in the industry.

Cons

Company is falling behind the times with its Java-based product, and is looking at stop gap to stop the bleeding. Management is at a major crossroads and must stop the continual revolving door with the sales department. For sales folks, I would be very very leery of the company's com plan as it is nowhere near meeting today's industry standards
