      Great company to work for - used to be

      Pros

      Employees have loyalty to the company, stayed long time with the company, proud of their job and know their job functions inside-out The last point is especially rare in the steel industry. Pays generously if you are reporting to the right manager.

      Cons

      Current management trend is leaning towards numbers instead of focusing on people development. The experienced people are forced out. The company is losing their the know-how in making the specialty alloys and soon will have to reinvent the wheels.

      Pension plus 401k Possibilities to move up generally supportive environment tuition reimbursement and/or some opportunities paid for up-front

      Cons

      Slow to change old boys network shift work for a lot of the production folks swing shifts make it hard to get a solid sleep pattern

      1) They allow their subsidiaries to function with autonomy 2) Excellent pay and benefits 3) Very high retention rate of lower level workers 4) You learn a lot

      1) Takes a long time to get capital expenditures approved. 2) High turnover in upper management positions including CEO 3) As stated above, many workers there for a long time (some over 35 years) and thus are resistant to change 4) Some equipment there over 35 years, also
