Pros

Health and dental benefits, oustanding employee scholar program. Opportunities for advancement nationwide and globally. Carrier is owned by United Technologies which offers its employees opportunities to advance their careers with other UTC owned companies like, Hamilton Sundstrand, Otis, Pratt and Whitney, Sikorsky. UTC also has an excellent quality and continuos improvement operating system known as ACE. The ACE operating system allows employees to master skills in lean principles and quality improvement methodoligies that may be applied in other industries.

Cons

Local leadership is out of touch with employees. The local salaries have much to be desired for.

Pros

Benefits are second to none. If you are willing to relocate on a regular basis, there is no limit to how far you can go.

Cons

If you agree to relocate one time, you are always expected to step up and do so -- refusing too many times is a death sentence in management's view of your dedication to the company. There is way too much red-tape to go through to accomplish anything - employees are not empowered.

Pros

Owned by UTC, it has deep pockets which can certainly help in a down economy. A lot of the employees work hard, many have years of experience and try in the face of a stiffling corporate presence. Lots of engineering support both in R&D as well as soloution engineering. A real focus on safety both on the shop floor but also in planning and the office as well. Employee satisfaction surveys are conducted every other year and the results are presented (as composites) . International presence offers the possibility of bringing products from other markets to here and vi a versa.

Cons

Wrong products at the wrong price points for the market. Lack of consistant strategic focus, tremendous turnover, sinking morale.
