Pros

The company has an amazing history. It was founded by three brothers back in the 60s and the company grew very quickly. The founders of the company (though retired) still visit plants and talk with everyone on the floor. From the highest levels the respect of employees at every level was valued, and all were treated as partners. By far, this company has some of the most passionate and amazing people who I have ever had the pleasure to work with. One year ago I would have said with 99% certainty that I would have worked for this company for the rest of my life.

Cons

There are some managers who seem like they are more focused on pursuit of their careers than building a team the right way. The situation that I am in is what is prompting my current job search. I absolutely love this company, but the situation that I am in has me fighting the urge to give my notice without even having another job to go to. I would not let this stop you from working for this company though, I would just urge you to talk to some employees in the plant where you will be working to get a feel for the working conditions. Again this company has some of the greatest people who I have ever worked with.

Pros

They are very quick to hire and do not scrutinize too much. People are nice and atmosphere is fairly relaxed.

Cons

Where do I begin.... Very poor pay, little opportunity to grow. They will work you to shreds and force 60 - 80 hour weeks on you, but they will not hire extra workers even if they are clearly needed. Instead, they will make the existing employees work evenings, weekends and even holidays for free. And there will be no compensation, not even in the form of a better year-end bonus. No sick leave at all. if you got sick - it is entirely up to your relationship with the manager to be able to stay home. Officially, company allows you to stay home unpaid. 2 weeks vacation for the first 7 years - hardly an enticing offer. Company is very averse to spending any kind of money on infrastructure. If exposure to modern technologies is important to you - stay away. Parking is a problem and the outside premises are poorly maintained, so you'd better keep a pair of wellies around in bad weather - you may need them on your journey from the car to the building. High employee turnover, frequent firings. And you are a delicate flower who can't take a conversational F-bomb - this place is not for you.

Pros

Small, but good group of people to work with. You'll quickly develop expert skills in excel. You get to attend weekly meetings with management and some bigger corporate meetings. Most important thing is that you'll have your hand in meaningful tasks and get exposed to large portion of accounting and finance tasks.

Cons

Not the most organized office. There will be times when you aren't exactly sure what you should be doing. Some of your work will include mundane tasks as part of monthly closing.
