Cons

Corporate has no authentic interest in the root causes of issues. Throw out any operational best-practices you know; legacy leaders in the trash industry refuse to listen to anything that might damage their egos or bottom line temporarily- even when the solutions are sustainable long term. They will hire industry outsiders to provide fresh perspectives and then dismiss opinions that differ from theirs.

People generally treat each other with respect, and that creates a safe space for sharing ideas and feedback.

Cons

- Compensation doesn’t match the expectations or workload. Pay feels below market, and that makes it hard to justify the level of effort required. - Recognition is lacking. While values are emphasized, employees don’t always feel valued—there’s little acknowledgment for going above and beyond. - Retention is a real concern.
