Some great engineers who are passionate.

Cons

Most of management and above have no modern experience with engineering. Most are disconnected from the work and do not subscribe to bottom-up cultural shift. Also, they never promote people from within. Spend a lot of money “investing” in employees then overload you with work so you cannot take advantage of anything.

Decent pay and benefits, good work-life balance.

Cons

* Extremely disorganized company * Lack of documented policies/procedures * More cliques than a middle school and while each clique is generally supportive of each other, there's little work to work together as a company * A lot of managers and directors don't actually understand their job, though the ones that do are exceptional so keep your team in mind * I do not think this is across the board, but in my experience, some of the higher ups engage in gaslighting and other manipulative behaviour

Customer interaction is the best part of the job

Cons

During Covid the workload increased while labor hours decreased, and it never went away, it only got worse, everything is micro managed, and the schedule has now changed to include managers working nights and weekends. There is no work life balance anymore. You are on salary for 9hours a day 5 days a week but most are working 12+ hours 6-7 days a week.
