Pays well. Liked the product before Jiff.

Cons

Terrible management. Don't really care about employees. Don't reward loyalty. Really had an identity crisis, especially when Jiff added to the mix. Jiff leaders took over and it went down from there.

The mission is extremely inspiring, and there were many colleagues who I truly loved working with.

Cons

Castlight is the most disorganized company that I've ever worked for. The management structure is not clear, and it's very difficult to envision a path for growth, which is disappointing given it's still such an early stage company. There are a lot of politics and in-fighting between teams. Many of the teams spend a significant amount of time working on emergencies/fire-drills that are caused by lack of quality assurance and/or ownership. Many people work upwards of 60-70 hour weeks, but often that work is administrative or caused by issues with the product. While the mission has always inspired me, it's difficult to be proud of the work you're doing, when you're met mostly with frustration both internally and on the part of the customer.

Pros

Great people, great mission. Management is open to feedback from all levels. Generous benefits and unlimited PTO. Castlight tries hard to make every employee's experience a positive one. Many very smart people to learn from, especially on the business side.

Cons

Hours can be quite long. Meetings are frequent and often involve too many people, with no clear responsibilities or handoffs. Management is the default career progression.
